General Information On Foxhounds

The ideal owner (as rare as the domesticated Foxhound) is a particularly energetic and tolerant person with plenty of time on their hands, and also a large securely fenced garden. Immaculate home and gardens, or households with small children or elderly people are definitely not the environment for the Foxhound.

Training Classes are a must for the foxhound, they need the mental challenge, as well as the socialisation. Off lead exercise is important for their well-being, but needs to be carried out in a secure area. Being a social animal the Foxhound does need canine company preferably a well mannered obedient friend, preferably not another hound as two are definitely a pack!

Foxhounds are large and very lively, and their antics and enthusiasm have to be experienced to be believed but at the same time are a loyal and loving friend, who after their busy day like nothing beter than stretching out on the sofa in front of the fire.
